Extremely sensitive skin products

There are a number of facts you should know about sensitive skin care but first it is important to learn just what sensitive skin is. Someone suffering with sensitive skin will usually have a problem with everyday products and environments that most of us take for granted. Special sensitive skin care products have been designed that will not irritate the skin and can help where the skin is already experiencing problems.

As each person is different, so the range of sensitive skin care has to be flexible too as this is not a situation where one product will work with everyone. Generally, all skin types respond negatively to detergents and other chemical based products.

The problem arises because it may take some time before the condition is recognized for what it is. This tolerance level is very low for sensitive skin types, leading to the skin becoming damaged very easily and quickly.

The difference with sensitive skin care to ordinary skin care products is the concentration of known irritants is kept to an absolute minimum or eliminated from the product completely. Sensitive skin care products of any type are usually marked as such but if you have very specific concerns then check the side of the container or list of instructions to see if there is anything you should know about.

It is still important to buy the products with the least amount of compounds that can trigger or aggravate the sensitivity condition. Try to avoid the use of any type of skin toner as they almost always use alcohol as the primary ingredient which will cause skin irritation if you suffer with sensitive skin.

If you are doing the laundry make sure you protect your hands with gloves as detergent can even cause problems for people who do not have sensitive skin and if rubber gloves also cause irritation, you can always wear cotton gloves underneath them. While that may be one problem to deal with, sunlight and bright sunshine is another so ensure a tested and proprietary sun cream is used when you venture out in the sun.

Avoiding exposure to dust and other pollutants is also important for sensitive skin care so cover yourself adequately before going out but you can use a hypoallergenic moisturizer as a skin care product if there is none specifically labeled for sensitive skin. Then when you clean your face, ensure that nothing contains any soap or alcohol (as mentioned previously) is used and any exfoliation peels or creams are applied carefully not to damage the skin further.

Never leave makeup on for extended periods and wherever possible use hypoallergenic makeup removal products that will not make the skin worse. While there is a great deal to think about if you have a sensitive skin condition, it is a matter of getting into a routine and know what causes the irritation as this will save you time and distress.
