Your Guide to Health and Weight Loss

Natural herbal weight loss remedies

Herbal weight loss supplements have become so popular in the last decade that manufacturers are spinning out more and more products and this leaves us, the consumers, confused by the choices. This popularity means that many of these are now household names even if it is not really understood what the benefit of each one is. The way this works is by telling the brain of the user that they are not hungry and has helped local populations when the pangs of hunger were upon them.

On the other hand, Guarana works by stimulating the body so it has increased energy as it is from a Brazilian plant that contains caffeine, the properties of which are well documented. Guarana has a few side effects which might not suit it as an herbal weight loss supplement like increasing the blood pressure with some users feeling dizzy or nauseous after using it.

Dandelion is another diuretic (it makes you urinate more frequently) and while side effects are relatively harmless, allergic reactions have been reported. While it is very effective at reducing the amount of fluid in the body, this herbal supplement is not designed to be used on daily basis.

To help rid the body of unwanted toxins and keep it ‘regular'; cascara is used as a natural laxative for use with weight loss programs. However, any form of laxative, herbal or otherwise should be used with caution as these products also remove healthy bacteria and essential nutrients when used regularly.

Of the many herbal weight loss products now almost saturating the marketplace, green tea is one of the more beneficial and can be found in many other products not even related to losing weight as it contains many ingredients which are good for the body. Healthy eating and exercise play a large part in weight loss but studies have shown that green tea does help when used as part of this weight control regime.

The average American will spend many thousands of dollars each year on natural or herbal weight loss products but when used on their own there is still little evidence that they are effective at long term weight control. Unfortunately the likes of Hoodia is rare and now protected so if you are fortunate enough to find a reputable dealer you may have to spend around fifty dollars a month to use this and many people believe that natural weight loss supplements are more about ensuring your wallet loses weight. If you are serious about shedding the pounds then you need to look at your diet and exercise level as well as how many natural weight control products you use.
